Described honestly and fairly, nowhere as affected as it reads or sounds. Visually the exterior appearance is more than acceptable, and even internally, the book is in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation for a book of it's age and nature, i.e. a child's book.It is virtually only the exterior faults described that prevents a slightly higher grading overall.Despite them,it really is a remarkable copy for its age, cleanliness and brightness. George had a miserable Grandma - a grousing old thing who wouldn't leave him alone. She was selfish and ugly, hated children and sometimes was so frightening that George suspected her of being a witch.'Don't forget my medicine,' she bullied. No,George would not forget Grandma's medicine. He had special plans for her 11 o'clock spoonful - the nasty devilish sort of plan hatched only in a Roald Dahl story. If the medicine George was concocting didn't actually cure Grandma,it would at least produce some interesting results. It contained everything he could find around the house - including shaving cream and a yellow liquid to cure cows with crumpled horns. It was a brew so full of wizardry, with a smell so bewitching, that George found himmself chanting strange words that came into his head out of nowhere. And what it did to Grandma must be seen in Quentin Blake's fabulous pictures to be believed - not to mention what happened in the farmyard. Some children may have thought that the Twits - the ghastly couple in Roald Dahl's last story illustrated by Quentin Blake - were about as horrible as people can get.But then they haven't yet met Grandma.
